Song in a Day: A Songwriting Workshop with Vicki Genfan & Sally Barker

Join Vicki Genfan and Sally Barker  for a day of exploration, creativity and songwriting! Together, these seasoned singer-songwriters bring with them over four decades of songwriting experience and wisdom. They’ll share tools and tips that you can

apply right away to your songwriting, including discussions about writer’s block and collaboration.

In an extraordinary departure from the usual songwriting workshop agenda, and drawing from each of their respective specialties, Sally will present a unique segment exploring how tradition and history can impact songwriting and Vicki will share a segment highlighting the use of simple open guitar tunings that can enhance your arrangements and spur your creativity.

We hope you’ll join us for this one of a kind submersion into the mysteries of the craft of songwriting! Time will be allotted for students to do their own creating as well as a limited amount of time to share your work.

Things to bring:

• Paper and your favorite writing tool
• Recording device
• Instrument (if you play one, but not necessary)
• Lunch, preferred beverage, unless you pre-purchase the Lunch Add-On**
